What to Prepare Before a First Consultation

When a purchasing manager or plant engineer reaches out to us about industrial coatings, the conversation usually starts the same way: they have a line to protect, a corrosion problem to solve, or a new model going into production, and they need to know if our materials fit. The first consultation is where that gets sorted out, and the more concrete information you bring, the faster we can give you a useful answer.

You do not need a full technical dossier to start. But there are a few things that make the first call dramatically more productive. We have listed them below, based on what we actually ask for when a client from an automotive assembly line contacts us.

Production Volume and Line Speed

Tell us roughly how many units move through your line per shift, and at what pace the coating stage runs. This matters because we supply heavy-duty paints in bulk, and the batch sizes, curing windows, and application parameters we recommend depend on whether you are coating a few dozen chassis a day or several hundred. Even an approximate number helps us narrow down the right product family.

Substrate and Surface Condition

What metal are you coating? Bare steel, galvanized sheet, aluminum components, or a mix? Also note whether the parts arrive with oil, mill scale, or previous paint layers. Anti-rust primers behave differently depending on the substrate and how thoroughly the surface is cleaned before application. If you have a sample part or a photo of the incoming material, that is genuinely useful.

Application Method and Curing Setup

Are you using robotic spray arms, manual spray booths, or dip tanks? What is the oven temperature and dwell time? Our heavy-duty paints and anti-rust colors are formulated for specific application conditions, and knowing your setup lets us recommend a product that will actually cure properly on your line rather than one that works in theory.

Performance Requirements

What does the coating need to survive? Salt spray hours, stone chip resistance, humidity exposure, or a specific color match across batches? If you have an internal specification or a customer requirement, bring it. We can then tell you which of our systems meets it and where we might need to adjust the formulation.

Current Pain Points

If you are already using a coating and switching because of adhesion failures, inconsistent color, or long curing times, say so. That context tells us what to test for first and helps us avoid repeating a problem you have already dealt with. It also speeds up the whole process, because we are not starting from a blank sheet.

  • Current coating issues, if any

That is the core of it. You do not need to prepare a formal document, but if you can answer these five points, the first consultation will be about your actual line rather than generalities.
